EMPOWERING LATINO LEADERS
The Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA) is the premier Latino organization at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for students in business and many other fields. We provide resources and opportunities to ultimately develop and guide our members into becoming leaders.
OUR PILLARS
PROFESSIONAL
Our chapter hosts bi-weekly events where companies come present about their companies. These events give our members a chance to learn about internship and full-time opportunities at these companies and to network with professionals. We also offer internal workshops. These events offer members a chance to develop themselves professionally. Our Professional Chair and other experienced members help younger members learn about finding internships, improving their resume, and expanding their network through tools like LinkedIn.
SOCIAL
Through various types of social events including intramural sports, movie nights, and networking events our members are able to build long-lasting relationships. These relationships start the professional networks that our members will develop for the rest of their careers.
PHILANTHROPY
ALPFA members volunteer in several places in the Champaign-Urbana community as well as the Chicagoland area. In addition to retirement homes and Feed My Starving Children, we have volunteered at the Boys & Girls Club, aiding with hosting events.
